New applications of radiotherapy have been developed over the last few years; however, there is concern regarding the resources required to implement these new interventions and the feasibility of implementing them in a low-resource setting. The goal of this session is to give a detailed explanation of the requirements to start a new program to address these new applications.
We will discuss the basis of implementing the following: SBRT for the treatment of arrhythmias, celiac plexus treatment for treatment of refractory abdominal pain, and functional neuro disorders. The physicians will describe the medical requirements and the physicist (Dr. Stanescu) will describe in detail the steps that are required from a physics standpoint.
Each speaker will have 12 minutes to present the topics and there will be 10 minutes at the end for questions.
