Dr. Gupta is a radiation oncology physician-scientist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his MD/PhD from the Cornell/Rockefeller/Sloan Kettering Tri-Institutional MD/PhD program in 2008. He completed radiation oncology residency training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2013. His laboratory studies the role of altered DNA damage responses in breast cancer pathogenesis and therapeutic response. An overarching goal of his research program is to leverage synthetic lethality in cancer to improve the efficacy and safety of DNA damaging therapy. His laboratory also specializes in circulating tumor biomarkers of treatment response for biologically adaptive radiation therapy.
