Dr. Smith “Jim” Apisarnthanarax is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington and serves as the Medical Director at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Radiation Oncology, Director of Clinical Research Director in Radiation Oncology, and Proton Therapy Fellowship Director for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Proton Therapy. He specializes in the treatment of hepatobiliary and other gastrointestinal cancers. He has served as the Vice Chair of the ASTRO Guideline for Primary Liver Malignancies and as a member of the ASTRO VA Liver Blue Ribbon Panel committee.
