Dan Ebner MD MPH has focused his research on heavy-ion radiotherapy since 2015, when he spent two years as a clinical researcher at the National Institute of Radiological Science (NIRS) in Japan, now the National Institutes of Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST). He remains a visiting clinical researcher at NIRS/QST, and member of the MIT Critical Data research group with focus on the ethical deployment of artificial intelligence. In lead-up to his work at NIRS/QST, Dr Ebner worked as an independent consultant for the Japanese government, as well as performed translational, clinical, and public health research with teams at Kyoto University and The University of Tokyo. He earned his medical degree with a concentration in global health from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and earned his Master in Public Health from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. He is currently in internship at the University of California Irvine, and will join the Mayo Clinic for training in Radiation Oncology.
