Mr. Nemoto is an attending medical physicist, Assistant Professor in Department of Radiology at University of Yamanashi. Prior to joining the faculty at University of Yamanashi, he worked as medical physicist at Tokyo Metropolitan Cancer and Infectious Diseases Center Komagome Hospital in Radiation Oncology and Tokyo Metropolitan Bokutoh Hospital in Radiology for two years. Mr. Nemoto is a recipient of the 117th Scientific Meeting of the Japan Society of Medical Physics (JSMP) President’s Award Gold in lung function imaging research. He serves on both the boards of JSMP and the education boards of the Japanese College of Medical Physics (JCMP). His research focuses on the use of machine learning and deformable image registration techniques to improve our ability to predict tumor response and development and clinical implementation of adaptive radiotherapy and functional-guided radiotherapy. He has published peer-reviewed manuscripts on the prediction of recurrences using machine learning algorithms and radiomics and the image recognition in image-guided radiation therapy.
