Kamaria Lee is currently a PGY-4 radiation oncology resident at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She graduated from Harvard University in 2016 after studying sociology, global health, and Spanish. Her interests in those areas continued after graduation, and she conducted qualitative research on womens health inequities in El Salvador. Concurrently, she supported her long-standing interest in oncology through working as a research assistant for the University of Michigans Cancer Surveillance and Outcomes Research Team. In this role, she assessed what informed survivors perceptions of their risk of systemic recurrence after breast cancer treatment in a large, diverse multi-site study. She subsequently attended Washington University in St. Louis for medical school during which she conducted research on radiation oncology care for underserved populations in Guatemala. Now as a resident, she is excited to continue to develop as a clinician and researcher.
