Dr. Lauro is an attending physician, Clinical Assistant Professor and Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. In her clinical practice she focuses on breast and CNS malignancies. She has extensively participated in the education of undergraduates, medical students and post-graduate residents and fellows. Dr. Lauro collaborates with researchers from the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Establishing an Ecosystem for Developing Advanced Radiopharmaceutical Therapies (DART). The team’s goal is to develop the next advance in oncologic therapy by developing a new generation of theranostics – a combination of therapy and diagnostic imaging drugs – utilizing targeted alpha-emitting radioisotope constructs. This team has been selected for a grant from the University of Tennessee – Oak Ridge Innovation Institute.
