Yvonne Klaver, MD, PhD

Yvonne Klaver (MD, PhD) is a radiation oncologist at Holland Proton Therapy Centre and has a secondment at Leiden University Medical Centre. Her interests as a clinician are esophageal cancer, neuro-oncology, chordomas and chondrosarcomas. Yvonne leads the HollandPTC tumor site group for esophageal cancer. She has led several multidisciplinary teams responsible for clinical implementations of new tumor sites at HollandPTC. Her current research focuses on improving proton therapy for esophageal cancer and the development and investigation of the potential clinical value of proton FLASH. Yvonne obtained her PhD in combining preclinical and clinical research, building bridges between surgical and medical oncology (Radboud University, Nijmegen, 2012, with honors). She completed her residency program in radiation oncology at Maastro clinic (Maastricht, 2017).
