Prasanna Alluri, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, and received a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry from UT Southwestern Medical Center. He then completed a research fellowship in Translational Oncology and a residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Michigan Medical School, where he was also a chief resident.
Dr. Alluris clinical and research focus is on breast cancer. In addition to directing a translational breast cancer research laboratory focused on studying the mechanisms of treatment resistance in breast cancer, he also serves as a PI or co-PI on many innovative breast cancer clinic trials. His research has received support from many federal and non-federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, NIH, ASCO, Breast Cancer Research Foundation and METAvivor.
Dr. Alluri held many leaderships positions, including as ad hoc Chair of Department of Defenses Breast Cancer Research Program Peer Review Panel, and currently serves as an Associate Editor for NPJ Breast cancer, a Nature Portfolio Journal published in partnership with Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
