Dr. Ran Zhang, a biochemist, earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Nankai University in 2019. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Researcher at the Department of Radiation Oncology and Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Radiation Oncology, within the Shandong Cancer Hospital and Institute, part of the Shandong First Medical University and Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences. Located in Jinan, Shandong, China. Dr. Zhangs research delves into the role and molecular mechanisms of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in radiation therapy, with a focus on targeting key proteins in non-small cell lung cancer and prostate cancer-associated fibroblasts to explore mechanisms of radiation therapy resistance induced by post-translational modifications. Dr. Zhangs research delves into the pivotal roles of O-glycosylation and N-glycosylation modifications in the protein dynamics that contribute to tumor radiotherapy resistance. Her innovative work aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which these glycosylation processes influence the behavior of cancer-associated fibroblasts in non-small cell lung cancer and prostate cancer, offering new perspectives on potential therapeutic targets.
