Dr McDowell is a radiation oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia, specialising in the treatment of head and neck cancers. His research interests include the application and interpretation of health-related quality of life instruments and the evaluation of unmet needs in patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer. He has leadership roles in the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group and the Head and Neck Cancer International Group. Dr McDowell is currently an associate section editor for the head and neck section at the Red Journal.
