Dr. Kenneth Rosenzweig is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He specializes in the treatment of thoracic malignancies with radiation therapy.
The focus of his work has been on incorporating new technology into treatment. He has specifically worked on implementing and evaluating novel techniques such as intensity modulated radiation therapy for mesothelioma and lung cancer, stereotactic body radiotherapy for early lung cancer, deep inspiration breath hold, gated radiation therapy and the incorporation of PET scans into the radiation therapy treatment planning process. He has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals and has authored numerous textbook chapters.
Dr. Rosenzweig has served on led many committees. He also served as the Vice Chairman of the ACGME Radiation Oncology Review Committee. In 2021, he was a CURE Magazine Lung Cancer Hero as well as a recipient of the IASLC Clinical Cancer Team Award for work during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also served as a Consultant to the International Atomic Energy Association. He is currently the Vice-Chair of ASTRO’s Scientific Committee which helps organize the annual meeting. He attended Yale University School of Medicine and did his residency at the Joint Center for Radiation Therapy at Harvard Medical School. He is a Fellow of the ACR and ASTRO.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Rosenzweig is currently serving his third term as City Councilman in Englewood, NJ a. He received the 2021 Community Service Award from the Englewood Rotary Club.
