Stephanie Dudzinski, MD, Ph.D. is a PGY-4 radiation oncology resident physician at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She plans to pursue a career as a physician scientist where her translational research will help us understand how combining radiation and immunotherapy modulates the tumor immune microenvironment, where she has a particular interest in macrophage polarization and modulation of macrophage phenotypes. Her current research on characterizing how low doses of "space radiation" affect the systemic immune microenvironment and if these changes can be prevented with a radioprotectant drug. She received grant support through the Translation Research Institute for Space Health, the RSNA Resident Research grant, and internal funding through the Quantitative Imaging Analysis Core.
Dr. Dudzinski also has an interest in medical education, and she has served as the resident medical student liasion for two years at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She also served as the ACRO Resident Communications Chair, where she created numerous webinar content for medical students and worked with the AMA and AAMC to update their descriptions of Radiation Oncology.
When not working, she enjoys playing with her son, competing on her USTA tennis teams, and trying new restaurants with her family, when her husband whos a neurosurgery resident is not working.
