Dr. Jyoti Mayadev is a Professor, Vice Chair of Developmental Therapeutics, Section Chief, and Gynecologic Director of Brachytherapy in the Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences Department at University of California San Diego.
Dr. Mayadev is a recognized national leader in gynecologic radiation therapy and brachytherapy. She serves as the NRG Oncology Co-Chair of the Cervical Cancer committee, and a core member of the phase I/Developmental Therapeutics (DT), Early Clinical Trials Oversight , GYN Executive, and RT DT committees. Through these leadership roles, she is a key participant in the strategy of GYN trials for novel treatments. She is the GYN Track Chair for the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Scientific Committee. Furthermore, she is the national principal investigator on phase I and phase III clinical trials in cervical cancer exploring the use of immunotherapy in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. She is widely published, and has receives grant funding from industry, pharma companies, the National Cancer Institute, NRG Oncology Group.
She has received awards for her teaching and clinical expertise, including Educator of the Year, and the Dean’s Award for Gynecologic Interstitial Brachytherapy. Dr. Mayadev is a frequent invited speaker for ASTRO, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Gynecology Oncology, and the American Brachytherapy Society to further knowledge and research in gynecology oncology and radiation oncology. Dr. Mayadev conceived, designed and developed the “Image Guided Brachytherapy Handbook”, and served as the Editor-in-Chief, published by Springer.
