Yulia Lyatskaya, PhD, is a board certified medical physicist and Director of Physics Implementation and Innovation at the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Lyatskaya’s research interests focus on implementation of new technologies in clinic. With specific goals towards improvements of efficiency, quality and safety, she works on optimization of imaging approaches for radiation treatments, developing systems for accurate tumor localization, and increasing accuracy and compliance of quality assurance. Prior to joining Emory, Dr. Lyatskaya worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School where she served as Chief of Dosimetry and Director and Associate Director of the Harvard Medical Physics Residency and Certificate Programs. Dr. Lyatskaya has enjoyed teaching and has mentored over 40 graduate and undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and medical physics residents. Dr. Lyatskaya has been a member of various committees at AAPM, ASTRO, and the Society of Directors of Academic Medical Physics Programs (SDAMPP). She currently serves as a Co-Chair of the Practice Accreditation Subcommittee at ASTRO.
