Reshma Jagsi, M.D., D.Phil., is the Lawrence Davis Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University. Internationally recognized for her work as a clinical trialist and health services researcher in the field of breast cancer, Dr. Jagsi focuses on advancing both the ways in which breast cancer is treated with radiation and the understanding of patient decision-making, cost, and access to appropriate care. She also studies issues of bioethics arising from cancer care and womens inclusion in the medical profession. She is the author of over 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including multiple high-impact publications in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and JAMA. Her research is funded by large independent grants from the NIH, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and several others. Dr. Jagsi served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and she is now Chair of ASTROs Ethics Committee and Women in Radiation Oncology Affinity Group. She is on the Steering Committee of the Early Breast Cancer Trialists Collaborative Group and is an editor for JAMA Oncology. Her contributions have been recognized with her election to the American Society of Clinical Investigation and Association of American Physicians, the Leadership Award of the AAMC’s Group on Women in Medicine and Science, LEAD Oncology’s Woman of the Year Award, AMWA’s Woman in Science Award, and AMSA’s Women Leaders Award. She is a fellow of the AAAS, ASCO, ASTRO, AAWR, and the Hastings Center.
