Amar Rewari, MD, MBA, FASTRO is the Chief of Radiation Oncology for Luminis Health, an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School, and a leader in radiation oncology policy and payment reform. He serves as Chair of the ASTROs Health Policy Committee, ASTROs Code Development and Valuation Committee, and ACRs Radiation Oncology Economics Committee. He is the ASTRO RUC Advisor and Vice-Chair of ASTROs Corporate Relations Committee and ASTROs Corporate Advisory Council. He is also a faculty speaker and organizer of the annual ASTRO Coding and Coverage seminar and an editor and contributor to ASTRO’s coding manual. He has previously worked in the HealthCare group at Credit Suisse as an Investment Banker, the Office of the Chairman at Aetna as a Health Policy Associate, currently serves as the Chairman of the Board at the Fund for Education Abroad, the largest study abroad scholarship provider for students of color and economic disadvantage.
Dr. Rewari graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in political science from Temple University. He received his MD and MBA degrees from Yale School of Medicine and Yale School of Management and stayed at Yale- New Haven Hospital to complete an internship in internal medicine. He attended Rutgers University for his radiation oncology residency, during which time he was named Chief Resident, received the Dean’s Research Award, and ASTRO’s highest award for clinical research at their annual meeting. Dr. Rewari was also selected as an ASTRO health policy fellow in their inaugural class.
