Geraldine Jacobson, MD, MPH, MBA, FASTRO
Dr. Geraldine Jacobson obtained her BS from Michigan State University, then traveled in Europe and Asia. She graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her Radiation Oncology residency at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. She earned her Master of Public Health at the University of South Florida. She served as Program Director and Associate Chair of the University of Iowa Department of Radiation Oncology and obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago.
She was Founding Chair of the West Virginia University Department of Radiation Oncology from 2012-2021. The department mission focused on providing high quality oncology care for the people of the state. In this role she had first-hand experience in addressing the challenges faced by patients in rural areas. Her clinical and research interests include image guided radiation for breast and gynecologic cancer, minimizing cancer treatment toxicity, rural and global health care, and reducing health care disparities.
She currently practices at Moffitt Medical Group at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. She is a Senior Member of Moffitt Medical Group and a Professor in the Department of Oncologic Science at the Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida
Dr. Jacobson serves as Immediate Past Chair of the American Society of Radiation Oncology. She is committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization and the specialty, promoting access to care for all patients, and collaborating with other organizations to reduce health care disparities.
