Kasey R. Cargill, Ph.D., received a BS in Forensic Science (2015) from the University of New Haven. Upon graduation, she earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics & Development Biology (2019) from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Cargill is currently pursuing a MD from the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 2025.
Prior to returning to medical school, Dr. Cargill was a postdoctoral fellow at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Thoracic, Head, & Neck Medical Oncology. Dr. Cargill has been awarded funding support for her research from the Research Advisory Committee of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the National Institutes of Health (F31), the International Lung Cancer Foundation, the UT SPORE in Lung Cancer, and the Hillman Foundation. She has attended and presented work at numerous conferences in the fields of Forensic Science, Cancer Metabolism, and Lung Cancer, including at the American Academy of Forensic Science (AAFS), the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR), and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) among others. She currently has 16 co-authored journal articles.
