Dr. Kanta Ka is a radiation oncologist and cancer researcher based at University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar and the Dalal Jamm National Hospital Center. He is responsible for genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and sarcoma pathologies within the radiotherapy department.
During his training, Dr. Ka completed a year of internship at the Institut Gustave Roussy, followed by a fellowship in translational and clinical research. He has since worked with the brachytherapy group of the French Society of Radiation Oncology (SFRO) on prostate cancer projects under the mentorship of Professor Pierre Blanchard, and on cervical and penile cancer projects with Professors Cyrus Chargari and Jean Michel Hannoun-Levi.
Dr. Ka is also actively involved in training radiotherapy residents in Senegal, which is the only French-speaking site in sub-Saharan Africa to host students from various African countries. In addition to his clinical and educational roles, he contributes to cancer treatment initiatives, raises awareness about cancer, and supports the development of cancer registries in Senegal.
