H. Ryan Cherng hails from Ellicott City, MD, a suburb of Baltimore. He attended the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate studies, majoring in molecular biology. He returned to Maryland and studied at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. During medical school, he studied patterns of failure of a large cohort of triple negative breast cancer patients as well outcomes of brain metastases treated with single-fractionated versus hypofractionated stereotactic radiosurgery. He is currently a PGY-4 at the University of Maryland. He is interested in clinical outcomes research, cost effective and quality of life analyses.
