Professor Choudhury is Chair and Honorary Consultant in Clinical Oncology at The Christie and University of Manchester, UK. She has a strong interest in translational research and focuses on radiotherapy-related research in prostate and bladder cancers. She is clinical lead for advanced radiotherapy, including the MRLinac project, and is Group Leader of The Translational Radiobiology Group. Professor Choudhury undertakes research to optimise and personalise radiotherapy using new techniques or imaging technology to deliver high doses of radiotherapy while minimising side effects and predictive biomarkers to determine which patients benefit from different treatments. She graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, UK but undertook Clinical Oncology training in Leeds, UK from 2000-2008. Between 2005 and 2007, she was a Cancer Research UK Clinical Training Research Fellow and undertook her PhD at the University of Leeds and Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Canada. She has a lead role in education and training for specialist registrars and clinical fellows. Professor Choudhury has authored more than 220 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Professor Choudhury is involved with national concerns such as the Royal College of Radiologists, the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Clinical and Translational Radiotherapy Research Working Group (CTRad), and the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Professor Choudhury is Editor in Chief of BMJ Oncology
