Joseph A. Sparano, MD, FACP is the Ezra M. Greenspan, M.D. Professor in Clinical Cancer Therapeutics, Chief of the Division of Hematology Oncology, and Deputy Director of the Tisch Cancer Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He is a medical oncologist whose research has focused on clinical application of biomarkers in breast cancer, and developmental therapeutic approaches for breast cancer, lymphoma and HIV-associated cancers. He also serves as Deputy Chair of ECOG-ACRIN and principal investigator and group chair of the AIDS Malignancy Consortium. He is currently a recipient of funding from the U.S. National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense, and Breast Cancer Research Foundation. He is a prior recipient of the Giants in Cancer Care Award for Breast Cancer, AACR Joseph Burchenal Award, ASCO Gianni Bonadonna Award, AACR William L. McGuire Award, Alliance Charles Moertel Award, Montefiore Health System Presidential Award, ECOG Young Investigator Award, and American Cancer Society Career Development Award.
