Dr Khan completed residency in radiation oncology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago IL, followed by a fellowship in brachytherapy at Harvard/Dana Farber. He joined the faculty at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey / Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and rose to the rank of Associate Professor over the next 9 years. During his tenure at Rutgers, he served as the Director of Brachytherapy Services and of the Laurie Proton Therapy Center at RWJ; he also served as the co-Director of the Gamma Knife Program at RWJ. He was recruited Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2017 and leads the enterprise-wide Breast Radiation Oncology Disease Site. He is currently an Attending (equivalent to Professor) at MSKCC, and is involved in various national level activities including involvement in the Breast Committees at NRG and Alliance, and he serves an oral examiner for the ABR and is Chair of the Breast Category for the ABR written exam. He has previously served ASTRO as Educational Committee track chair in the Breast Section, and as Associate Editor in the Breast Section of the Red Journal.
