The Oregon Clinic Radiation Oncology
Portland, OR
My PhD training, post-doctoral studies, and independent research program have a strong focus on transforming growth factor beta signaling in tumor and immune biology. My clinical and research expertise are in immunotherapy and the tumor microenvironment in head and neck, breast, and GI malignancies. My lab is interested in how microenvironmental supporting cells limit immune mediated clearance of residual tumor cells following radiation. We are most interested in pursuing interventions that have a translational application, and we run several investigator-initiated clinical trials based on data produced in our lab. Our work has resulted in several peer reviewed publications, as well as research support including the Radiologic Society of North America Research Seed Grant, American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award, the Sidney Kimmel Foundation Translational Scholar Award, and a Susan G. Komen CCR grant.
