Dr. Alex Louie is an Associate Professor and Clinician Scientist at Sunnybrook where he is also the lung disease site and SBRT/SABR lead. Following medical and residency training at Western University, he obtained a Masters Degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a PhD from the VU University in Amsterdam. He is a member of various ASTRO committees, and is the incoming Chair of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) Advanced Radiation Technology (ART) Committee. His academic focus is on the use of comparative effective research in lung, kidney and oligometastatic cancers. Areas of research interest include clinical trials, patient-reported outcomes, population databases, health economics and technological appraisals.
