Dr. Timur Mitin is an Associate Professor at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). He is a native of Moscow, Russia, and came to the United States at age 16 to pursue his education. He graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle, Washington, then from Cornell University in 2000 with cum Laude in Biology and Chemistry and received dual MD/PhD training at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. After completing his residency training at Harvard, he was invited to join the faculty of Harvard Medical School at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where he specialized in the treatment of patients with genitourinary malignancies.
Since joining OHSU in 2014, Dr. Mitin has been practicing general radiation oncology at a community hospital-based satellite clinic, treating all disease sites. He is leading several prospective clinical trials on institutional and national levels. He is deeply involved in educational programs conducted by the Russian Society of Clinical Oncology (RUSSCO) and travels to Russia twice a year with lectures and workshops. He is a co-author of several Russian national oncology guidelines.
