This session explores the acceleration of patient enrollment across various regions, facilitating the rapid assembly of substantial patient cohorts for late-phase trials. This approach is crucial for the timely generation of scientific and clinical data. However, a notable gap exists, as only 5-10% of cancer clinical trials occur in South Asia, Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa. Addressing this disparity is essential, especially as efforts intensify to improve access to standard radiation therapy in low- and middle-income countries. Equally important is the exploration of new methodological innovations. These innovations could enhance our capabilities in research infrastructure and human resource management, thereby broadening access to clinical trials across international borders. Minimizing barriers to clinical trial participation can expedite trial completion and enhance the applicability of results across diverse demographic and ethnic groups.
